Angela Lane - Chairman

Angela has worked as an independent director and advisor to many private companies. She is currently Chairman of Ansel Group Limited, Independent Director on the Board of Scott Dunn and also Independent Director of Bournemouth and West Hampshire Water plc.

 

   

Tom Burns - Group CEOTom Burns - Chief Executive

Tom, a learning disability nurse by profession, is a well respected figure in the independent health and social care sectors with more than 30 years operational experience. The Ansel Group was conceived and driven forward by him. Previous roles have included Chief Executive of In-mind Healthcare, Commercial Director of the Priory Group and Director of Commissioning for a large health authority as well as Business Development Director for the St Andrews Group. He has a wide range of practical experience in all aspects of forensic and non-forensic services, from high secure services to community based provision. Tom has also managed a highly successful consultancy service counting the DoH, NSCAG, and the Department of Justice as his clients, alongside many PCTs and SCGs.

   

Daniel Ryan - Performance Director

Daniel has extensive experience in this demanding role as he was Compliance Director at Inmind Healthcare. Before that he was a senior Assessment Manager at the Healthcare Commission, a senior performance specialist with the Audit Commission and a policy analyst at both HM Treasury and the Dept of Health.

Richard is an Architect by profession with over a decades experience in the specialist mental health care sector both as a consultant and a service provider. Previous roles have included Service Development of Inmind Healthcare, Managing Director of RBAL, Senior Project Architect for DBS and specialist consultancy appointments for the Department of Health and Ministry of Justice.

Donald McCauley - Clinical Services Manager

Donald is a registered Learning Disability Nurse with an extensive career in community, residential and forensic mental health care services across the public and independent health care sectors. Donald has developed a clear specialism in the provision of highly adaptable and responsive person centred care across a broad range of clinical settings and is a leading member of our pathway development process and team.

   

Dr Stan Renwick – Head of PsychologyDr Stan Renwick – Head of Psychology

Stan has an extensive back ground in forensic mental health care securing the position of Director of Research and Clinical Psychology at the State Hospital Carstairs early in his career. This was followed by a decade at the Ministry of Defence as Head of Clinical Psychology. Stan has been regularly and extensively published and has developed specialisms in Personality Disorder, Anger and Violence. Stan for a number of years served on the Editorial Board of the British Journal of Forensic Practice and previously held the position of Visiting Professor at the University of California, Irvine as well as being commissioned by Scottish Ministers to provide expert independent opinion.

At present, in addition to his role as Head of Psychology at The Ansel Group Stan holds the appointment of member of the Correctional Services Accreditation Panel, National Offenders Management Service, Ministry of Justice.

   

Dr Anayo Unachukwu - Head of Psychiatry

Qualified in medicine, psychiatry and law Anayo is extensively published and a regular speaker at both national and international conferences and seminars. Anayo is an experienced consultant forensic psychiatrist and holds both the Head of Psychiatry and Lead Clinician rolls for The Ansel Group. Anayo has worked in both the NHS and the independent sector throughout his career in mental health care services and leads a number of teams and work streams across the organisation.
