Making a Referral

Ansel provides a commitment to undertake all referrals within 48 hours, completing the referral process as comprehensively and efficiently as possible.

Referrals will only be accepted from those authorised by their organisations to make them.
To make a referral, please download and complete the referral form opposite.
If you have a query about a referral, call our central hotline on 0845 200 0465.  If the patient meets the initial referral criteria and the referral is an emergency or of an urgent nature, a telephone referral will be taken.

Admission criteria

  • Adult Men
  • Complex mental health needs, challenging behaviours and a primary or secondary diagnosis of personality disorder
  • Subject to a section of the Mental Health Act
  • Forensic or non forensic histories
  • Capacity to engage
  • Referrals accepted from Tiers 1-6 including prisoners on hospital transfers
